The Compound Effect

A letter from Victor

This is about the compound effect.

I guarantee this system will give you insane personal leverage. Work it for two days—really commit to it—and you'll see what I mean. If you don't feel the leverage, that's a personal failure on my part.

You get B2B-focused work AND personal work. That's the point.

Part of it is Claude Code itself. The Anthropic team has built something incredible—it's your tool harness. But beyond Claude Code, what you're really investing in is building your own personal knowledge system. Everything you put in here, you own. It's portable. If you want to use OpenAI's Codex or some other platform tomorrow, you're a couple clicks away.

That might not matter right now—I'm not planning to leave Claude Code—but whatever the future holds, as the models get better, your OUTPUT gets better.

You're not renting. You're building.

This is a sophisticated way to organize your knowledge and add to it AS you work. Without that much extra effort. You will become AI-first in how you operate.

What I'm giving you is layered value.

First, you have my knowledge in there. How to build things. How to get the AI to problem-solve for you. The CLAUDE.md in your repo has strong basic patterns telling Claude how not to be annoying. The workflows are already adapted for knowledge work, not pure development (although I did code this entire website with it). If this is your first time, you won't even realize it's already set up well for the type of work you do.

Then I've put knowledge of core patterns in. How to prompt the AI. How to use the deep planning skill to build great plans. Some are GTM-focused—I am a head of growth and 3x VP of RevOps after all—so you'll get content marketing, SDR workflows, prospect research, call transcript analysis, and insights into plugging into the GTM vendor ecosystem.

The beauty of the system is you don't really need to know how to use it. Just tell it to use your skills to help you plan how to do whatever you want. Seriously. It has good patterns built in, and if you ask it, the repo will help you with various skills I've built there. I've really worked to make it self-aware, so even if you're new to the terminal and Claude Code you will get maximum value immediately.

While there's a lot of B2B/GTM here, what you're getting is more than that.

I've built dozens of side projects out of this system. A survival repository. A wisdom engine for a non-profit I'm on the board of. A portfolio tracker for my father-in-law's startup investments. An automated newsletter I send myself every week.

It's made me more creative. I learned how to build a website (like this one). I've hooked into image and video generation APIs—skills you have access to in here.

The AI evangelist in me thinks it's like living in the future.

So welcome. Check it out. Let me know what you think.

How I think about AI and GTM.

STEEPWORKS isn't all GTM, but it is exceptional for it.

Production over demos

Anyone can show a cool prompt. The question is does it run daily without breaking? Does it handle edge cases? Does the output actually get used? I only share what's been running in production.

Principles over tactics

AI amplifies principles—it doesn't replace them. Know your customer. Do discovery. Build relationships. The fundamentals matter more with AI, not less.

Systems over tools

Tools get replaced. Systems compound. The goal isn't to master ChatGPT—it's to build a knowledge layer that makes every AI tool 10x smarter about your work.

Questions? Answered directly.

Common questions about STEEPWORKS, Claude Code, and getting started.

Do I need coding skills?

No. If you can create folders and write documents, you have the skills. Claude handles the technical parts.

How long until I'm using it?

You're installed and running in an hour. Pick a real project, start working, and the system adapts to you as you feed in your context.

What do I need to start?

Anthropic account (free), Claude Code app (one-click install), and ~$20/month in API credits.

The system I built for myself. Now yours.
